Who does not know the popularity of Super Junior, SNSD,
2PM, Sistar, and EXO? For the teenagers, they one familiar with those korean artists
due to they are the ones who started to spread Korean wave that is much loved. Now,
the things about Korea get common interest. Especially, Indonesian teenagers
who start to learn the ins and outs of Korean nation and begin to change their life
style like Korean culture as a guide for expression. Whereas, Indonesian
culture has begun to be forgotten. In few words, Korean wave reduces the sense
of nationalism especially in life style of the Indonesian teenagers.
Korean culture specifically refers to Kpop or Hallyu. In Indonesia, it
began to enter in 2000. As time goes by, the teenagers become rabid fans. In
fact, they are willing to spend time and waste of money just to see their idol
directly, started from attend their idol’s concert, love korean products and show
a great sense to use a Korean style clothing. Even, using Hangul or korean language also popular. From all of these life
styles, make teenagers will be
lack of attention with our own culture, they do not appreciate the creation of
Indonesian culture itself. Instead, they are applying that culture
in everyday life, started to forget the Indonesian culture
and to be indifferent to our original
culture due to they prefer
to Korean culture. From all of that, it will directly
bring the effect to the sense of nationalism. Whereas, the teenagers who should
be the people who know well about Indonesia’s culture itself.
Indonesian
teenagers should be aware that their life
styles is brought by the Korean
wave and it would impact directly to the lack of a sense of
nationalism. It is very scary when the culture
of other countries, especially the Korean culture is
much loved by our teenagers differ with
our own culture that actually has
a lot of things that need to
be studied. So that, the teenagers have
to begin to learn and love
our own culture. If not us, who
else.
